Harrisonburg, VA – The demand for green design has not slowed down despite the slow construction economy in the Shenandoah Valley. This is best seen with The Gaines Group, PLC, the valleys premier green architectural firm, expanding into a larger office space downtown and their adding an interior designer to the staff. The firm that first expanded into the Valley on September 1, 2009 to better serve the demand for green architectural design and LEED consulting, now offers a full range of green interior design services. Amy Turnage, LEED AP, CAPS, graduated from James Madison University in 2006 and has become an expert in green interiors working on multiple LEED registered projects. Her addition to the staff grows the firm’s ability to answer the call for those clients seeking a one stop shop for high performance healthy homes and commercial projects that are designed for convenience and comfort.  Architect, Charles Hendricks, AIA, CSI, CDT, LEED AP states that “there is a real need in the area for practical design solutions that offer our clients energy efficiency, durability, and healthy indoor air quality. Our hiring Amy was a strategic move to provide a full range of green services for all our clients wanting to live healthier at home and work while having a low environmental impact. We are expanding our services to enable us to continue to provide the highest quality of design and personal attention that our clients have come to expect from us over the last 25 years.” The new office is located in downtown Harrisonburg, Virginia at 57 S.
